Personality |
Loyal, faithful and honest, the Dog has a firm code of ethics to live by and can be counted on in times of need. Ever trustworthy, this pup is also wonderfully discreet, listening closely while guarding a friend's problems without a ever thinking of being a gossip. Anything less would be unimaginable to Dogs, possessed as they are of a keen sense of right and wrong and duty-bound to the core. This is the Dog's mantra: Live right, look out for the underdog and fight injustice wherever possible.
Due
to their honest and courageous nature, the Dog is ready to fight for a worthy
cause or to defend friends in trouble. They are sensitive to others and
empathize with them, particularly if they have suffered an injustice, reacting
quickly with the same feeling, as though they had been personally offended.
Their friends value this trust and loyalty, and know that they can be relied
upon to keep a promise or remain cool in a crisis. It is rare for they to betray
a confidence or withdraw from a commitment.
Bear in mind, though, that if they get a Dog started on what's important to them, they could go on forever. Dogs aren't much for social small talk, preferring to get to the heart of the matter. They can also be temperamental and moody, which makes it hard to know if the Dog that shows up will lick their leg or bite it off. Dogs can even be downright nasty if they feel their livelihood is at risk, great worriers that they are. These sensitive pups need time to warm to others and gradually learn to trust them. Without that trust, they can be judgmental. Dogs have little patience for flighty, unpredictable behaviour, treating these "lost" souls in a critical, almost harsh manner.
When they are told a story or hear of an event they need to know all the facts, and are dissatisfied if they fell they have only been given half the story; but it is precisely this search for the truth that can make they over-critical. They feel it is their duty to point out weaknesses - no out of spite, but because they feel honesty is the best policy. There are many times, however, when their advice is welcomed and their enthusiasm appreciated. They can inspire confidence without being forceful, and they are not usually misled by appearances nor preoccupied with the superfluous.
There
is a pessimistic side to their character and their spirit is drained when they
hear of situations beyond their control, such as natural or human disasters. They
sometimes find the world overwhelming and need to withdraw from crowd to a quiet
place where they can mull over these worries. They want everything to work out
in the best possible way and are anxious about the potential problems that may
befall they or those around they. Try not to exhaust themselves thinking about
problems that have not yet materialized. There is no doubt that have a strong
sense of duty and responsibility, but at times they need to relax and realize
that it is impossible for they to shoulder every burden.
The other side of the Dog's
discerning nature is that they are excellent business people who can turn their
pickiness into an asset. Where love is concerned, Dogs often have a tough time
finding the right match. These Feckless Fidos can be so anxious and overwrought
in romance that they'll test their partner to the extreme. Dogs need to work on
these irrational fears and are also well-served to relax their high standards,
which can alienate loved ones.
The
most compatible match for a dog is the tiger or horse.
Career |
Dog
signs
can be relied upon to act responsibly, and can be trusted with sensitive
information. They need to have a clear sense of the job description and its
final aim but once sure of their role, they are a dedicated and steady worker.
Avoid aggressive and competitive occupations, as these will only make they
nervous; focus instead on work that enables they to build trusting relationships
with other people.
They are a conscientious colleague, and once they have made a commitment they fulfill it to the best of their ability. Although they can be hesitant - particularly if they are faced by a sudden deadline - they work well as a member of a team, but are also an accessible leader. They like to keep the peace with their colleagues, but they are not afraid to stand up in defense of a good cause and will work tirelessly on behalf of others. They are suited to a career in education, law, social work or research. They would also be a good teacher, doctor, counselor, campaigner or member of a religious order.
Dog
signs are a good listener and encourage their partner to share their problems,
but when it comes to revealing their own feelings they are more reticent, wary
of burdening others with their worries.
They
need reassurance and encouragement, and enjoy the company of someone who has the
confident and adventurous spirit that they sometimes lack. They are faithful and
tender but it is important to they that their loyalty is reciprocated. They do
not enjoy the excitement of the chase or thrive on jealous scenes, and when they
feel isolated they soon become anxious and reserved. It could also take a long
time for they to regain their trust once they have been hurt or deceived.
